You got a physical Slappcard. This is how to play the music, save it, and get help if something’s stuck. No app to install.

1. What the card is
A Slappcard is a small plastic card with the artist’s art on it. Tapping or scanning it opens a private listen page — just that artist’s music, for people who have the card.
It is not a public store, playlist, or shop. Nobody can browse to the music without the card (or its unique link).
Your card has:
- Art on the face
- A QR code (every card)
- Sometimes an NFC chip (tap-to-phone). If yours doesn’t tap, the QR still works.
- A short slap code printed under the QR on the white edge — the same code that’s in the link

2. Open the card (tap or scan)
You do not need a Slappcard account to listen on a typical card. Your phone’s browser is enough.
Tap (NFC)
- Unlock your phone.
- Hold the card to the back of the phone (near the top on iPhone, near the center on many Androids).
- When a notification or banner appears, open it.
Scan (QR)
- Open the Camera app.
- Point it at the QR code.
- Tap the link that appears.
Either way you should land on a full-screen page with the artist’s name and a prompt to unlock.
Give the phone a couple of seconds. If nothing happens, don’t worry — use the slap code below.
3. If tap or scan fails
The slap code is the short code under the QR on the white edge of the card (letters and numbers, like hL66uYyqEKyafB).

You can also paste a full /c/… link if someone sent you one.
If you can’t read the code, go to Support — you can scan the QR there, type what you can see, or attach a photo of the card.
4. Unlock with email
Most cards show Enter email to listen.
- Type an email you actually check. This is how the artist knows you unlocked their card.
- Complete the bot check (the little widget under the email field).
- Tap Unlock.
That’s it. You should drop into the private listen page.
Coming back on this same phone: the browser remembers the unlock, so you usually won’t have to type the email again. There’s a Lock control at the bottom if you want to sign the card off this device.
Coming back on a different phone: scan or open the same /c/… link and enter the same email.

5. The private listen page
The page fills your phone screen. Colors pick up from the cover art, in the look the artist chose (you can’t cycle themes). While a track plays, a soft visualizer moves behind the player.
You’ll see:
- Slappcard in the top corner (that link goes home)
- Cover art (or a simple Slappcard placeholder if there’s no art yet)
- Artist name, and the release / album title when there is one
- Now playing — the current track
- A scrub bar with times
- Previous / Play–Pause / Next
- Volume (and mute) — remembered on this phone
- A tracklist — number, title, length. The playing row shows a small bouncing equalizer instead of the track number
- Download on each row, plus Download album / Download full tape, when this card allows downloads
Footer on the player: Stream + signed download · Private · No app. (or stream-only / download-only if the card is set that way.)
Play
Tap play. Tap a row in the tracklist to jump to that song. Skip with next/previous. Drag the scrub bar to seek.
If a track says audio isn’t uploaded yet, that song isn’t on the card yet — the others should still play.
Lock screen and headphones. While this tab is open, play / pause / next / previous and the now-playing art work from the lock screen, notification shade, and headphone or keyboard media keys on phones and computers that support it.
Mini player. On browsers that support it (Chrome and other Chromium browsers), a pop-out control keeps transport and volume on top if you leave the tab. Safari and Firefox skip that button; playback in the tab still works.
Download
When the card includes downloads, tap the download icon on a track, or download the whole tape. Files save as MP3s named after the track titles. Keep your phone awake while a full-tape download runs; it grabs tracks one after another.
Some cards are stream only (no download buttons) or download only (no in-page player). That’s the artist’s pack, not a broken page.
Downloads only work after you’ve unlocked. They’re for you — not a public file dump.
Artist info
What you see on this page is the artist name, cover, and the tracks this card unlocks (sometimes one release, sometimes the catalog the artist put on the card). There is no public artist storefront to wander into.
6. Optional account (library across devices)
You do not need an account for a normal email-unlock card.
A free account is useful if you want a library of claimed cards that follows you when you sign in on another phone.

Sign up with email and a password, or Continue with Google.
On Your library you’ll see:
- Cards claimed to your signed-in account
- Email unlock lookup — type the same address you used at the gate to reopen that music here
- Profile & settings (display name, password / connected accounts) if you’re signed in
Empty library just means nothing is claimed to this login yet. Scan a card to add one, or use the email lookup for cards you already unlocked with an address.
7. Claim-style cards
A few cards skip the email box and say Sign in to claim or Claim this card.
Those lock to one Slappcard account, so the music follows you on every device where you’re signed in.
- Tap Sign in (you’ll come back to the card afterward).
- Create an account or log in.
- Tap Claim.
You should see something like Claimed — [artist] is in your library. Open Library anytime at /account.
If you see This card was already claimed by another account, someone else already attached it. Reach out via Support and pick Claim / account help.
8. Support, lost cards, wrong music
Go to https://staging.slappcard.com/support — Slap card help.
The form asks for:
- Your name and email (they’ll reply there)
- Phone (optional)
- Slap code — scan the QR on the page, type the code under the QR, or paste a full
/c/…link - What’s wrong
- Photo of the card (optional, under 8MB). A clear shot of the QR and the code helps if it’s worn. If the photo includes a readable QR, the form can fill the slap code for you
- A short message (what happens when you scan, any error text, when you got the card)
Reasons you can pick:

After you submit you’ll see Request received. Keep the card handy. You’ll get a confirmation email. If the slap code matches a card in the system, the page says so; if it doesn’t, the team still reviews the request.
9. Your email and privacy
- Your email is for the artist, so they can stay in touch. It is not published on a public storefront.
- The listen page is private. Search engines are told not to index
/c/…links. - There is no public catalog of “everyone’s music on Slappcard” for fans to browse. The way in is the physical card or its unique link.
- Plays are counted for the artist. The public analytics side does not store your raw email on those play events.
Use an address you’re okay sharing with that artist. That’s the point of the card: a direct line, not a feed.
10. Older cards
If you have a card from earlier Slappcard years, you’re in the right place. Open it the same way — tap, scan, or type the slap code. You’ll get the same private player with streaming and downloads.
Some very old printed URLs used a short web address without /c/. If that redirect doesn’t land, type the slap code from the card into /c/YOURCODE, or use Support.
