Label guide
How to check in on your roster: campaign health, missing audio, abuse warnings, and what fans actually unlock. Written for record-label and roster staff who were invited by Slappcard — not for platform admins, and not for artists managing their own workspace.
Where things live: label portal at /label on staging.slappcard.com.
This is a read-mostly oversight desk. Artists keep edit control of their pages, audio, orders, and fan lists. You watch the numbers and the exceptions; you do not run their workspace.
1. What this portal is
Slappcard prints physical NFC/QR cards that unlock a private listening page. Fans tap or scan, enter an email, and hear the artist's music. There is no public storefront.
Your label org is a roster overlay on those artist workspaces. Slappcard admin creates the org, adds your staff, and links the artists you oversee. You then get a dashboard at /label with:
- A roster of linked artists — streams, unlocks, cards issued, audio readiness, abuse health
- Cross-roster alerts — missing audio, empty bios, cold cards, abuse warnings
- Per-artist check-in — catalog, private-page copy, top tracks, fan counts
- Preview as fan — the same listen page fans unlock, without going through the email gate
You are not a platform admin. You cannot mint cards, ship orders, change other users' accounts, or export fan mailing lists.
2. How you get access
You cannot sign up as a label on your own. Access is always granted by Slappcard admin.
- You already have (or create) a Slappcard account — sign in at staging.slappcard.com with email or Google.
- Admin creates the label organization (name + slug) under Admin → Labels.
- Admin adds you as a member and assigns a seat: owner, manager, or viewer.
- Your account is switched to the label role and set to land on
/labelafter sign-in. - Admin links artist workspaces to the label. Until that happens, your roster is empty.
Then open staging.slappcard.com/label.

There is no self-serve "create a label" or "invite a teammate" flow. Adding members, linking artists, and suspending the org are admin-only.
3. Roles and access levels
Two different knobs exist. Only one of them changes what you can do today.
3.1 Your seat on the label (owner / manager / viewer)
Admin assigns this when they add you. It is stored on your membership.
Live today: all three seats see the same portal — roster, alerts, artist check-in, and fan preview. There is no extra edit, export, or admin screen for owners or managers.
Treat the seat as how Slappcard and your org know who the primary contact is (the first member added becomes the label's primary contact). It is not a permission ladder in the product yet.
3.2 Per-artist access level (on each roster link)
When admin links an artist, the link carries an access level:

Do not expect export or content-management tools to appear because a link is set to a reserved level. If you need a fan list or a page change, the artist does it in /artist (or Slappcard admin helps).
4. Finding your way around
The portal has a short sidebar:

Click an artist row to open artist check-in (/label/artist/…). From there, Preview as fan opens the private-page preview (/label/artist/…/preview).
The header subtitle reminds you: Read-only roster · artists keep edit control.
Your library (/account) still works if you also listen to cards as a fan. This portal does not replace that.
5. Roster check-in (/label)
Each row is one actively linked artist (revoked links do not show). The list is sorted by name.
For each artist you see:

If any alerts exist, a button in the Roster header jumps to /label/alerts with the count.
Empty roster is normal until admin links artists. The empty state says so.
The roster is a check-in board, not a campaign builder. You cannot add, remove, or reorder artists from this page.
6. Alerts (/label/alerts)
Alerts are generated automatically from live artist data. Click a card to open that artist's check-in.

All clear means none of those four conditions are true right now — not that the campaign is "done."
Notes:
- incomplete on the roster row can come from missing audio or a missing bio. The incomplete page alert is specifically an empty bio.
- no unlocks does not fire for artists with zero cards issued. No cards yet ≠ a cold campaign.
- Alerts refresh with the dashboard. Fix the underlying artist workspace (audio, bio, card distribution) and they drop off.
7. Abuse health (email-to-card ratio)
Slappcard watches distinct fan emails ÷ cards issued. That's how cards stay scarce and link-sharing doesn't turn one QR into an open download.

The artist check-in shows the numeric ratio plus the status. The roster badge is the status word.
What you should do
- If status is
ok, ignore it. - If
warnedorcutoff, tell the artist: hand cards to real fans; don't paste the card URL on socials or Discord. - You cannot clear a cutoff from the label portal. Slappcard admin can raise thresholds for a known giveaway, revoke a leaked code, or leave cutoff in place on purpose.
This is the same health number artists see on their own Overview / Analytics. You see it so you can catch a leaked link across the roster.
8. Artist check-in
Open a roster row. This is a read-only copy of that artist's dashboard, with fan emails stripped.
Numbers (top)

Read-only branding fans see after unlock:
- Bio (or "No bio yet.")
- Website, if set
- Second contact (Instagram, phone, extra email), if set
You cannot edit these fields here. Cover art and comment toggles are not shown on this desk.
Catalog
Every release on the workspace, including drafts:
- Title, kind (album / EP / single), track count
- published vs draft
- Each track: title + Audio ready or Needs audio
Drafts are hidden from fans. Published releases only play tracks that have audio.
Top tracks
Up to five titles ranked by stream count (only tracks that have been played).
Fans
You get a count: N distinct gate emails · raw list not available on label accounts (artist / admin only).
There is no table of addresses, no card codes, no CSV button. That is policy, not a missing permission — see §10.
Preview as fan
Same listen page a fan gets after a successful unlock, minus the email gate:
- Cover art, palette, and the stream/download player
- Tracks with audio on published releases, in play order
- Playback is allowed for roster members; plays are not counted as fan streams
If nothing is playable, you'll see "No tracks with audio yet." Drafts and tracks without files do not appear here, even if they show on the catalog section.
9. What you can and cannot do
You can
- Sign in and open
/labelfor your active label - Scan roster KPIs and readiness badges
- Work the alerts queue
- Open any actively linked artist's check-in
- Preview and play published tracks with audio
- See fan counts, stream totals, 7-day unlocks, cards issued, abuse status
- Use
/accountas a listener if you also collect cards
You cannot
- Create a label, invite teammates, or change seats
- Link or unlink artists
- Edit bios, websites, or contact lines
- Upload, replace, or clear audio
- Create, rename, publish, or delete releases and tracks
- Order packs, set shipping, or see fulfillment timelines
- Export or view raw fan emails, even with
view_plus_exporton the link - Manage content on the artist's behalf (
manage_contentis reserved — no tools for it) - Clear abuse cutoffs, mint cards, remint codes, or impersonate the artist
- See artists who were never linked, or whose link is revoked
- Switch between multiple labels in the UI (if you somehow have more than one active membership, the portal uses the first active org)
If a change needs to happen in the catalog or on the private page, the artist owner does it in /artist. If the artist isn't set up yet, ask Slappcard — admin can link an owner or help with white-glove setup.
10. Fan emails (PII)
Label roles never see raw fan emails. Counts only.
That is a deliberate privacy rule, not a bug and not something admin can "turn on" for your seat:
- Check-in Fans section is a number plus an explanation.
- The artist dashboard payload you receive has an empty email list, always.
- Reserved access level
view_plus_exportdoes not unlock a CSV today. - Artists export their own list from Fans in
/artist. Admins can see lists when operating the platform. You cannot.
Don't ask artists to paste mailing lists into Slack or email as a workaround for this portal. If you need outreach, coordinate with the artist so they export from their workspace.
11. How this connects to artist workspaces
Think of two desks on the same catalog:

When a workspace is linked, the artist sees a Shared access banner on their Overview:
Your workspace metrics are visible (read-only) to {Label name}. They cannot edit your page, upload audio, or export fan emails.
That banner is the transparency contract. Artists are not surprised that a label can see streams and readiness; they are told you cannot take over the workspace.
Practical split of labor:
- You notice "3 tracks still need audio" or "bio is empty."
- They open Music / Artist page and fix it.
- You refresh check-in / alerts and confirm the badge flipped to ready.
You do not log into their artist dashboard unless you personally own that artist account (unusual). Adding someone as a label member sets their primary portal to /label; it does not grant edit rights on linked artists.
12. Suspended labels and revoked artists
Suspended org
Admin can flip a label from active to suspended. While suspended:
- Membership lookups skip that org, so
/labelbehaves as if you have no label — typically the "No label membership" card, not a special "suspended" banner. - Roster and alerts come back empty even if you still have a seat on paper.
- Only Slappcard admin can still inspect the org from Admin → Labels.
You cannot unsuspend yourself. Email slapcardz@gmail.com if you believe this is a mistake.
Revoked artist link
Admin can unlink an artist (status becomes revoked, not deleted). That artist disappears from your roster. Opening an old check-in URL shows "Not on roster." Re-linking is an admin action; it restores view access (or whatever level they set).
Invited (not used in the live flow)
The data model allows a roster link status of invited. Admin linking today sets links to active immediately. You will not see a pending-invite queue in the portal.
13. Getting help
You're roster staff, not ops. For anything that needs a write — minting, shipping, abuse overrides, adding a teammate — go through Slappcard.

- Card problems (scans, remints, wrong music):
/support— have the slap code if you have a physical card. - Help center:
/help— artist, fan, and affiliate guides. This label guide is the roster companion to those. - Artist still needs an owner: don't try to "become" them from
/label. Ask admin to link the owner or run white-glove setup.
